Stepping Into the World of Drag Fashion and Makeup

Telic Thoughts - Wed, 2021-01-27 10:27

In the past few years, drag has enjoyed mass popularity thanks to growing acceptance for various forms of art and self-expression. It’s a common misconception that only men can wear drag, but there are many drag subgenres. The kind of drag mostly seen on popular shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race is known as “drag queens”, where men dress as women and adopt more exaggerated female features and behaviours. Another type of drag is when women dress as men, known as “drag kings”. Some women also do drag by adopting the same exaggerated makeup and parodying what drag queens do, and these are known as “bio queens”. For this article, in particular, we’ll be focusing on drag queen or bio queen style makeup and fashion.

Find your style

Drag queens are known for their individualistic style. The whole point of drag is to shake up the norm, so there are no rules to what you can wear. If you’re just doing drag as a hobby, you can experiment with the clothes available in your wardrobe, or you can shop around thrift stores to build an outfit. If you have the talent for it, you can even sew your own costumes. However, if you’ve decided to become a more serious performer, you might want to consider investing in lace wigs and reaching out to designers to help create better costumes.

Practice with makeup

Drag queens use a ton of makeup. Part of this is to emphasise the illusion of femininity. Most drag queens use makeup to hide certain masculine traits and look softer and more feminine. Exaggerated features and colourful looks are also helpful for drag queens who perform on stage. Other times, drag queens use makeup just to have fun and not necessarily look like a woman. Again, there are no hard and fast rules to drag queen makeup. It all depends on what you want to accomplish. There are countless tutorials online on how to do different types of drag looks, so you are spoiled for choice regarding learning how to do your makeup. You don’t have to worry about getting heavy-duty stage makeup or high pigment just yet. Even drugstore makeup is sufficient for practice and experimentation

Pin down your drag identity

Drag queens say that doing drag is like stepping into another person’s body. Some drag queens even have a name for their drag selves. It can be quite liberating to have an opportunity to be someone different. If you’re usually a quiet and meek person, maybe invent a drag persona that’s louder and more aggressive.

Drag serves a wide range of purposes, from entertainment to self-expression. More people are being introduced to dramatic and exaggerated makeup alongside artistic and creative costumes, so it’s an exciting time for the beauty and fashion industry. If you’re hoping to jump into the drag scene, try to go for your own unique style and persona instead of following what your favourite drag queen is doing. Drag’s motto is individualism, so forge your own path.

Why It’s Difficult to Follow a Diet Plan and What You Can Do to Consistently Follow One

Telic Thoughts - Wed, 2020-11-18 22:44

You keep saying to yourself you will finally live a healthier lifestyle. You won’t eat unhealthy dishes anymore and follow a diet plan. The problem is within a few days of following a diet plan, you end up going back to your old ways. If you can’t change your ways, achieving your fitness goals will be difficult. Understanding why you don’t change could help you take the necessary steps in the right direction.

You might have the wrong plan

Just because a diet plan seems popular doesn’t mean you should follow it. Also, just because it worked with others doesn’t mean the same thing will happen to you. Try to understand what these plans entail and if they fit your overall lifestyle. You can also consult with a doctor. Not all bodies are the same, and these plans should be suitable for your body type for them to work.

The plan involves starvation

Some people might tell you that the intermittent fasting method works. You only eat during the allowed window. It might be effective, but it doesn’t mean you can survive this plan. It forces you to starve yourself for a while, and it might not be the right option for you. The problem with a diet plan that involves starvation is that you will keep thinking about food. You might also make up whatever you lost when it’s time to eat. You will still end up not seeing your desired results.

You don’t make enough effort

Some diet plans are difficult since there are specific ingredients needed to follow them. You have to let go of some dishes and stick with the options allowed. The problem is that you don’t put too much effort into the plan. You even make excuses all the time. If you want to follow a diet plan, you should take the extra steps to find what you need. You should also go beyond week one in making an effort.

You expect immediate results

Regardless of the diet plan you wish to follow; you can’t expect immediate results. It takes time to see the fruits of your efforts. You should be patient. Rushing the process won’t lead to positive results. Besides, if you set high expectations and fail to see them immediately, you might give up. Lower your expectations and be patient. It could take months to see changes in your body. Don’t believe in diet plans promising results within days. You work hard to see the best results, and anything short of that is unrealistic.

Be patient, and wait until you see the desired results. You have to enjoy the process and don’t be under immense pressure. You can also check out some useful recipes online that you can follow at home. However, you should be cautious to not overuse your phone. You have to use EMF protection if you need to use your mobile device frequently for whatever reason. You can click here if you want to buy EMF protection devices. Apart from eating healthily, there are other ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
